O conceito de papel é muito importante para o processo seletivo, ele determina as características de usuário dentro do sistema. O papel tem como principal objetivo determinar o perfil dos usuários no sistema, determinando qual é a sua "responsabilidade", o que faz e como faz. Podem ser criados diversos papeis dentro do sistema com suas respectivas características e posteriomente quando um usuário for criado este é associado a um ou mais papeis determinando assim o seu perfil.<br />

Um exemplo muito comum de papel pode ser aplicado a pessoa responsável por todo o processo seletivo. Esta pessoa teoricamente precisaria ter acesso completo a todas as funcionalidades do sistema. Vamos chamar o papel desta pessoa de '''COORDENADOR'''. Este papel poderia ser definido no sistema com a característica de '''Administrador''' para ter acesso inrestrito a todas as funcionalidades do sistema. <br />
